Musical instruments of Nepal. A very interesting topic indeed. What exactly are the musical instruments of Nepal? Well if you have ever been to Nepal you will know that the people who occupy the country and extremely friendly all the time even though they have very little compared to most countries in the West.
So what makes them so happy all the time? Could it be the fact that they just love singing, dancing and listening to music? I think so. I actually traveled to Nepal over a year ago and found this out for my self. I traveled down to the south of the country and attended a concert that the villagers in this small town put on for us. It was one of the most extraordinary events I have ever been to. Some of the musical instruments of Nepal include simple things like sticks and, tambourines and small drums.
The concert was played by around about 10 young men who proceeded to whack their sticks up against each other on the beat of the drummer in the middle. I marveled at their ability to play they’re instruments while they bounced around like larrikins. At the end of the concert they invited everyone on stage and showed us how to dance and play some of their instruments. I had a great time and would love to go back and try it out again.
If you are ever in Nepal ask some of the locals about the musical instruments in Nepal. You should be able to pick up one of the drums that were being played at the same concert I went to. And if you ever happen to be down in the south of the country, I recommend you go and check out one of the local concerts, they are generally on every week. You will have a great time that I can assure you of.
Another musical instrument of Nepal includes a small looking guitar that I noticed a man playing as I entered into his town high up in the Himalayas. He proceeded to play it like a Ukulele and again I marveled at his ability to play and his quick finger movements. Although at the time I was very tired after a long trek and was unable to really appreciate his amazing skill, later on that night the same man brought out his guitar and played it again for everyone to listen to and enjoy.
If you are ever in Nepal, make sure you spend sometime asking around about the musical instruments of Nepal.
