Musical Instruments String And Wind

In this article we talk about musical instruments string and wind. To be honest, there are many musical instruments available, however, some of the best and oldest forms of classical musical instruments come in the form of the wind and string selection of musical instruments.

Wind instruments

These instruments normally have some type of tube. The player blows in to this tube; the air then vibrates creating a specific kind of sound. If different holes on the wind musical instrument are covered, different notes of music can be heard, both high and low pitched.

The wind instruments can be put in to two main categories, which are brass instruments and woodwind instruments. We have found out that brass instruments were generally made with brass and the woodwind instruments were mainly made with wood. However, this is not always a concrete guide when deciding on the family type of the instrument. A better way to find out which family the instrument belongs to is to hear the actual sound the musical instrument plays.

Musical instruments string and wind

In brass instruments, the lips vibrate of the person playing the instrument, thus, causing the air within the instrument to vibrate. In woodwind instruments, the musical player normally causes a reed to vibrate, which affects the air within the tube, or the player will blow against the edge of an open hole covering other holes up to change notes. This is typical in the case of the flute.

We have found out that the saxophone and the flute are now typically made from brass, however, they are all classified as woodwind instruments as this is where they originate from. A long time ago, these instruments were all designed and played as wood instruments, typically using cane.

The serpent musical instrument however, is made from wood, or in some cases, plastic tubing. However, these instruments belong to the brass family of instruments because the vibrating is done by the player’s lips.

Our conclusion on musical instruments string and wind

Both instruments of both families although very similar, all have their unique uses in the musical instrument industry. Both are generally played in the same way, however, it takes different skills and new mastery to master the playing of each instrument no matter what the family the instrument originates from. This summarizes our article on musical instruments string and wind.

A Friend In The Musical Instruments Industry

February 2nd, 2007    Subscribe To Our Feed

www.musiciansfriend.com really is a friend to musicians.

Why?

They get the best deals, the cheapest prices, and the highest quality products. End of story, no questions asked.

Sure this might sound like a shameless plug for them (no I don’t own them) but the bottom line is, they rock… literally (did I make you laugh) J

They offer a huge range of instruments, at seriously cheap prices, and if you’re a budding musician, saving money is key… but not without sacrificing quality…

We’ll go to the lengths of spending our last food money to get a better guitar, rather than quibble and get a cheaper one… but I’d seriously rather be able to eat AND play, than not.

Seriously, do yourself a favor and next time you are looking to buy, order from (or at least check out the prices of) www.musiciansfriend.com… You’ll be glad you did.

Musical Instruments Of Nepal

January 25th, 2007    Subscribe To Our Feed

Musical instruments of Nepal. A very interesting topic indeed. What exactly are the musical instruments of Nepal? Well if you have ever been to Nepal you will know that the people who occupy the country and extremely friendly all the time even though they have very little compared to most countries in the West.

So what makes them so happy all the time? Could it be the fact that they just love singing, dancing and listening to music? I think so. I actually traveled to Nepal over a year ago and found this out for my self. I traveled down to the south of the country and attended a concert that the villagers in this small town put on for us. It was one of the most extraordinary events I have ever been to. Some of the musical instruments of Nepal include simple things like sticks and, tambourines and small drums.

The concert was played by around about 10 young men who proceeded to whack their sticks up against each other on the beat of the drummer in the middle. I marveled at their ability to play they’re instruments while they bounced around like larrikins. At the end of the concert they invited everyone on stage and showed us how to dance and play some of their instruments. I had a great time and would love to go back and try it out again.

If you are ever in Nepal ask some of the locals about the musical instruments in Nepal. You should be able to pick up one of the drums that were being played at the same concert I went to. And if you ever happen to be down in the south of the country, I recommend you go and check out one of the local concerts, they are generally on every week. You will have a great time that I can assure you of.

Another musical instrument of Nepal includes a small looking guitar that I noticed a man playing as I entered into his town high up in the Himalayas. He proceeded to play it like a Ukulele and again I marveled at his ability to play and his quick finger movements. Although at the time I was very tired after a long trek and was unable to really appreciate his amazing skill, later on that night the same man brought out his guitar and played it again for everyone to listen to and enjoy.

If you are ever in Nepal, make sure you spend sometime asking around about the musical instruments of Nepal.
